Microbe Clouds: Our New Fingerprints!

Aura

I came across a fascinating article in a recent issue of New Scientist. It describes how we all have our own unique microbe eco-system on our skin, which then rubs off into the air to form a microbe cloud, or external microbiome (the fancy name).

Studies have found that our microbial signature could be found on computers weeks after we last touched them. Not only that, but the clouds can also reveal who have met (as their cloud mixes with us). Already, the police have started to use this. Between our smartphones and these clouds, it looks like there’s no hiding!
